Kaizen 2.0: Making Changes That Stick

Change is difficult, especially organizational change. As difficult as it is to accomplish, it is even more difficult to sustain. Over the years of consulting, we’ve built a system based on Kaizen ideology, that brings our clients through this challenging process with lasting results, and we’re pleased to share what we’ve learned that makes change stick.
The single largest threat to making changes that stick is lack of Stakeholder Input.
In the line of Lean Transformations, one of the most fun parts is to “Image Disruptive Strategic Solutions.” This means to create the picture of how the solution would work.
In this stage, we blow up a process, take the key pieces that are needed to providing the intended functionality of the existing process, and re-image them in an entirely new way.
These solutions require creative input from key stakeholders to identify all needs, risks, and problems which must be considered.
Bringing key stakeholders collaboratively with you on the process of discovery will increase buy in and build advocates that will help sustain the changes you design.
We believe that the fundamentals of the solution already exist in the experience and creativity of your organization, and with coaching by experienced lean transformation experts, we can draw out the solutions and build support.
A disruptive solution largely extracted from within the organization will be more successfully implemented than one created outside of it.
PROCESS SOLUTIONS DECK
There are three more steps and two types of stakeholders that we won’t cover at this time, and skipping to the last step in this part of the process we get to the Process Solutions Deck.
To inclusively move to stakeholder implementation strategy, a Process Solutions Deck would be created outlining all of the relevant information gathered thus far. This deck will provide a consistent platform from which participative stakeholders can base their understanding of the current proposed solutions and associated risks, along with the success metrics of this project.
